About

I was born in the Tango country of Uruguay, with a classical music upbringing in Detroit surrounded by the Motor City’s rock, disco, and breakdance scene. I am a Philharmonia Orchestra (London) 1st violinist, composer, conductor, and pedagogue.

This mix has always led me to see connections between vastly different music genres and to do so in a human, ethical, and empathetic way. I pursued the musical interest in a Master’s degree at the University of London, which in turn sowed the seeds for my current pan-genre pedagogical and performance practice. The human interest is integral to the entirety of my artistic output.

As a pedagogue and presenter, I use popular music as a tool to uncover how music works under the surface without getting tangled in historical issues. The issues can then be both applied and traced back in time, more clearly.

As a composer, my works are built on proven universal musical elements shared by different aesthetics regardless of era or genre. Many works are written for different simultaneous ‘incarnations’, for performances by symphony orchestras, chamber groups, or rock outfits. My music has been performed by major international orchestras, soloists, and electric bands, at jazz and classical music festivals, and broadcast by BBC Radio3, Uruguayan national radio, and Tokyo FM commercial radio.

As a conductor, I use these tools, combined with my knowledge as a professional violinist in one of the world's greatest orchestras to build and deliver powerful, expressive performances. I encourage the professional, student or amateur players to invest themselves by offering up their own artistic vision, and working with them towards an inclusive goal.

As a violinistI've circled the world more times than I can count, performing in the world's greatest concert halls including Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebow, Vienna Musikverein, La Fenice Venice, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Centre. I've recorded for all major games and film and games studios over the past 20 years including 20th Century Fox, Universal, Disney, Lionsgate, TriStar, Columbia, and Netflix. Formerly, I was concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uruguay.
